KTUH is excited to announce we will be participating in this year’s annual College Radio Day on Friday, November 4th. But with so many arbitrary holidays to celebrate any given day of the year, what exactly is College Radio Day?
College Radio Day celebrates non-commercial educational radio. A day to highlight college radio’s diversity and commitment to its community. The aim of College Radio Day is to harness combined listeners from various colleges across the United States, and to represent UH Manoa on a national level.
As always KTUH DJs will be bringing their best musical offerings, but with a College Radio Day twist! Throughout the day we will be doing on-air giveaways, and DJs will be talking about why they love college radio. But feat not! It won’t be a far departure from what you’re used to hearing on our airwaves.
The 6th annual national College Radio Day is only a week away!
We also have a special event planned on the University of Hawaii, Manoa’s campus! Stop by the KTUH headquarters to see a live beat performance by Scott Ohtoro, local beat maker and hip-hop producer. KTUH will be hosting a “Small Kine Desk” concert in its offices from 1pm-2pm. Space is limited, but we’ve teamed up with UH Productions to make sure everyone gets a chance to experience it at a later date.
