    • 7:00 pm – The Wiz @ Hawaii Theatre Center: Hawaii Theatre Center’s Education Program, in collaboration with the Paliku Academy of Performing Arts (PAPA), presents The Wiz this weekend and next. This seven-time Tony award-winning musical retells the children’s classic The Wonderful Wizard of Oz with a progressive, urban twist.

    • 8am –  6th annual keiki fishing tournament @ maunalua bay beach: The event is an opportunity for keiki to learn fishing skills, as well as fishing safety practices, conservation and education.
    • 9am – 39th Annual Prince Lot Hula Festival @ Moanalua Gardens: The largest non-competitive hula celebration in Hawai‘i, the festival is held each year to honor Prince Lot Kapuaiwa who reprised the once forbidden hula in the district of Moanalua. The Royal Order of Kamehameha and Royal Societies will open the festival, followed by an impressive lineup of 20 premier hula groups who will perform ancient and contemporary hula over the festival weekend. There will also be cultural demonstrations, a Made in Hawaiʻi craft fair, poi pounding workshops, entertainment and more. http://www.moanaluagardensfoundation.org/
    • 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. – 8th Annual Mangoes at the Moana @ Moana Surfrider: Mangoes make their sweet return to the Moana in every edible form. Some of Honolulu’s top chefs go head to head in a Mango Throwdown, with dishes available for purchase; and there’s a Mango Cocktail Mixdown, mango cooking demonstrations, a mango farmer’s market and a silent auction.
    • 10a – 6p Haleiwa Arts Festival @ Haleiwa Beach Park: This community event will feature over 140 visual artists, live performances, and ono festival food. The mission of the Haleiwa Arts Festival non-profit organization is to promote education and public awareness of arts and culture, with emphasis on participation, for the betterment of the community. http://haleiwaartsfestival.org/
